HID iCLASS® Contactless Smart Cards
Smart Cards are a trusted technology used in many day to day transactions such as credit cards and electronic toll collection and many government departments are issuing these for their citizens.

HID iCLASS® was specifically designed to make access control more powerful, more versatile, and more secure. All radio frequency data transmission between the card and reader is encrypted using a secure algorithm. By using industry standard encryption techniques, iCLASS reduces the risk of compromised data or duplicated cards. Security mechanisms such as mutual authentication and encryption are efficiently combined with fast processing and data communication, resulting in transaction times of less than 100 milliseconds for a typical secure e-purse transaction. The HID iCLASS® cards are to carry digital signatures, provide more storage for reading and writing data than traditional proximity cards and the ability to serve as multi-application credentials (such as Time & Attendance, Access to Office Equipment). Passive, no-battery design allows for an estimated minimum 100,000 reads and strong, flexible, and resistant to cracking and breaking make them a cost effective security solution.
